396th Climbing World Cup in History: Wujiang 2024 to Feature UIAA and IFSC Competitions

Wujiang 2024 is set to mark the 396th Climbing World Cup in history, featuring both UIAA and IFSC competitions. This will be the 41st event organized in China and the ninth to be held in Wujiang. The competition will include four medal events: women’s Lead, women’s Speed, men’s Lead, and men’s Speed.

A total of 235 climbers, including 128 male and 107 female athletes, from 37 different countries and territories across four continents will be participating in Wujiang 2024. The competition will feature the 225th pair of Lead World Cup competitions and the 135th pair of Speed competitions.

Notable highlights of the event include South Korea’s Kim Jain participating in her 100th Lead competition, making her one of the top climbers in the all-time list. Polish speed climber Marcin Dzienski is the most experienced athlete in the Speed discipline, set to make his 63rd start in a Speed World Cup competition.

Additionally, there will be several debutants making their first appearance at an IFSC World Cup in various categories, including women’s Lead, men’s Lead, women’s Speed, and men’s Speed. The event will feature new talent from China, Japan, Singapore, the United States, Iran, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia.
