ADB SAFEGATE has been awarded the contract to install Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems at Bhogapuram Airport, a new airport development project undertaken by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Ltd (GVIAL) in Andhra Pradesh, India. The company will collaborate with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) on this project, bringing its cutting-edge Airside 4.0 technology to the table. This includes state-of-the-art LED AGL systems as well as innovative solutions like ADB SAFEGATE’s AXON lights and LINC 360 Integrated Light Control and Monitoring System (ILCMS).
Bhartendu Mohan, the country director for India at ADB SAFEGATE, expressed excitement about the partnership with L&T and GMR for this project. Mohan emphasized that the implementation of their Airside 4.0 technology will not only improve operational efficiency at the airport but also establish new benchmarks for safety and sustainability in the aviation sector.
ADB SAFEGATE has a history of successful collaborations with both L&T and GMR Group, having worked on projects in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai. This new initiative underscores their dedication to delivering innovative solutions for airports worldwide, with a focus on enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The Bhogapuram Airport project is scheduled to be completed within 12-14 months, with a target operational date of late 2025. This initiative reflects ADB SAFEGATE’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of airport technology and setting new standards in the industry.
