Ajman has just released its preliminary estimates for the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023, and the results are nothing short of impressive. According to the Ajman Statistics Center, the emirate had a strong economic performance and achieved positive growth rates. The GDP at current prices exceeded 36 billion dirhams, up from 33.9 billion dirhams in 2022, showcasing a growth rate of 6.25%. At constant prices, the GDP totaled about AED 32 billion, compared to AED 30.5 billion in 2022, showing a growth rate of 4.7%.
Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, the Executive Director of the Center, highlighted the significant improvement in the emirate’s economic performance and emphasized the efforts made to enhance sustainable development. The growth in the GDP demonstrates Ajman’s ability to overcome economic challenges and strengthen its position both locally and internationally.
The results showed that sectors like manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair, and construction led the economy in contributing to the gross domestic product in 2023. Manufacturing accounted for 18.80%, wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair for 18.04%, and construction for 16.42% at current prices.
