Two ex-Wisconsin Badgers selected for 2024 USA Basketball select team

The select team for the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s National Team has been announced, and two former Wisconsin Badgers have been named to the squad. Micah Potter and Nigel Hayes will join other college basketball stars as they prepare for the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

The group of 16 players includes 12 current NBA or G League players, two players with NBA, G League, international, or USA Basketball experience, and one incoming college freshman with USA Basketball experience. This diverse group is sure to bring a variety of skills and perspectives to the training sessions.

Hayes, who recently won a Turkish League Championship with Fenerbahçe Beko, has had an impressive career in professional basketball with stints in the NBA and teams in Turkey, Lithuania, and Spain. On the other hand, Potter has been playing in the G League since starting his professional career in 2021 and is currently playing for the Salt Lake Stars affiliate of Utah Jazz.

This opportunity with the USA Basketball select team is significant for both Potter and Hayes as they aim to make a return to the NBA court. Follow @TheBadgersWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook for ongoing coverage of Wisconsin Badgers news and updates.
