Bayside Soccer hosted its first-ever soccer tournament on November 11th at the Hannahville Ice and Turf sports complex in Wells. The tournament featured three divisions of play for 12U, 14U, and 16U, with teams from Iron Mountain’s 906 FC, Houghton FC, and Bayside Soccer and its affiliate Delta United Soccer Academy participating.
The goal of the event was to provide a fun and competitive tournament for players while raising funds for the high school team. Organizer Amy Blahnik stated that they are thrilled to have hosted this tournament and look forward to organizing more in the spring and next fall.
The games were played in a round-robin style, with three-on-three matches. The top two teams at the end of group play had a playoff for first place. In the end, 906 FC won the 12U group, Houghton FC Red won the 14U group, and Bayside – Delta United Soccer Academy took home first place in the 16U division.
