The Beacon Academy Science Olympiad team recently competed at the Illinois State competition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This was the second year in a row that the team earned a bid to compete at this level. The competition featured 25 high school teams in Division A from across the state, all vying for top honors in a series of events that tested their knowledge of science concepts, process skills, and applications.
Overall, the Beacon Academy team finished fifth in Division A, showcasing their incredible performance across all 23 events. They placed in several individual events, including Codebusters, Fermi Questions, Forensics, Geological Mapping, Microbe Mission, Robot Tour, Tower, and Wind Power. Their success can be attributed to their positive attitudes and ability to apply scientific knowledge under pressure.
Throughout the season, the Beacon Academy Trailblazers demonstrated excellent teamwork and dedication to their craft. They worked together tirelessly to prepare for each event and support one another during tough times. Their hard work paid off as they earned a spot on the podium for several of their individual achievements.
Congratulations to the Beacon Academy Science Olympiad team on a fantastic season! We are proud of your success and look forward to seeing what you will achieve next year!
