The Bengals have announced the signing of Drew Plitt to their practice squad, in a bid to bolster their quarterback depth after Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury. Plitt had previously been with the team during the 2022 preseason, but had not been on an NFL roster since being cut that summer. He played for Arlington in the XFL during the league’s 2023 season, where he had a solid record of 63-of-100 for 668 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions.

With Jake Browning set to start for the Bengals and AJ McCarron in line for the No. 2 job, Plitt will look to add his skills to the team’s already formidable lineup. The Bengals are also looking to bring back running back Chase Brown from injured reserve and place guard Jaxson Kirkland on the practice squad injured reserve. With these moves, the Bengals are looking to strengthen their roster and make sure they are prepared for any eventuality that may arise during the season.
