Bengals Faces Trade Requests from Key Players: Trey Hendrickson and Tee Higgins

A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter has revealed that star defensive end Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals has requested to be traded. Despite being under contract for two more years with substantial salaries, Hendrickson is seeking more long-term security, which the Bengals have not been willing to offer.

The news comes on the heels of star wide receiver Tee Higgins also reportedly asking for a trade as he looks for a long-term deal. There have been no contract talks between Higgins and the Bengals in over a year, according to Schefter’s report.

Despite Hendrickson’s trade request, the Bengals have reportedly told him they will not move him, as reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. This request comes after an outstanding season where Hendrickson had 17.5 sacks, the second-most in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits. In his three seasons with the Bengals, he has accumulated 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits in 48 games. Hendrickson has also been selected to the Pro Bowl three times during his time with the team.
