The Bills special teams made a huge comeback on Sunday after a big error in their loss to the Broncos last Monday. Reggie Gilliam, the fullback, made a huge play by crushing Jets kickoff returner Xavier Gipson and forcing a fumble that was recovered by Quintin Morris at the Jets’ 21-yard-line. Although they were in an excellent field position, the Bills were unable to convert this takeaway into a touchdown.

Despite a short run and an incompletion, Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams managed to sack Josh Allen, forcing the Bills to attempt a field goal from 48 yards away. Tyler Bass successfully made the field goal, giving the Bills an early lead of 3-0 with only 90 seconds remaining on the clock in Buffalo. The initial success of the special teams and defense gave the Bills an advantage in the game.
