Bipartisan Breakthrough: Republicans Support Historic Aid Package for Ukraine

In a surprising turn of events, the Republican opposition recently supported the Democratic ruling party’s initiative for an extraordinary aid package of 61 billion dollars destined for Ukraine. This victory for President Biden was a blow to the extreme right-wingers of the party who could not stop it, despite their efforts during the campaign. The proposal had been stalled for six months due to pressure from former President Trump, who described the aid to Ukraine as a waste and showed sympathy towards Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin.

This break in the Republican party’s isolationist line, influenced by the liberal wing of the conservative party, offered a clear vision on how the American establishment perceives the Ukrainian crisis.
