Boston Celtics on the Brink of Losing Key Player Oshae Brissett: Will They Be Able to Keep Him for 2024-25?

The Boston Celtics are entering the 2024-25 season with most of their key players from their championship-winning season in 2023-24. However, there is one player from that group who is currently a free agent – Oshae Brissett. Despite declining his player option last week, the team has expressed interest in bringing him back for the upcoming season.

According to The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, the Celtics have one roster spot remaining after re-signing Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman. Brissett is still exploring other options and seeking a team where he can get more playing time. He has decided to skip Olympic training camp with the Canadian national team to focus on his free agency.

Brissett played a limited role for the Celtics last season, averaging 11.5 minutes per game in 55 regular-season appearances. During the playoffs, his playing time decreased to 5.5 minutes per game in 10 games. With the Celtics having one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the league, it may be challenging for Brissett to secure a significant role on the team. However, injuries and other factors could potentially open up opportunities for him to contribute.

Brissett began his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors before spending time with the Indiana Pacers. His versatility as a wing player and defensive presence could make him a valuable asset for teams looking to add depth to their roster.

The possibility of Brissett returning to the team remains uncertain as he continues to explore other options and seek more playing time elsewhere. The Celtics are keeping their door open for a potential return but will ultimately decide based on what’s best for both parties.

In conclusion, while most of Boston’s key players from last year’s championship campaign remain with them, they still have an important decision to make about Oshae Brissett’s future with the team. With injuries or other factors opening up opportunities for him on
