New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram is rumored to be a potential trade target for the Sacramento Kings, according to sources. While talks between the two teams have not progressed, it’s believed that the Kings have exploratory interest in acquiring him. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that discussions with the Pelicans are ongoing and the Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors are also being considered as possible trade destinations for Ingram.
During the 2024 NBA Draft, the Kings were reportedly willing to trade a package that included players Kevin Huerter and Harrison Barnes, along with draft picks. One of those picks was the No. 13 overall selection, which they used to draft Devin Carter. Carter has shown promise but there are still future draft picks available for potential trades in the future.
Ingram had an impressive season last year, averaging 20.8 points, 5.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. If acquired by the Kings, he would provide a significant boost to their young core and general manager Monte McNair has a history of making bold moves in past seasons so it’s possible that Ingram could be a key piece in their roster moving forward. Stay tuned for updates on this developing trade rumor as things unfold.
