Barber in the community offers health clinic to support Men’s Health Month

In the spirit of Men’s Health Month, Gee’s Clippers is hosting a men’s health clinic with the help of its partners to break down barriers and make healthcare more accessible to men. The clinic was started four years ago by Gee Smith, owner of Gee’s Clippers, who realized that men were more comfortable opening up to him than to a doctor. Today, the event called “Reclaiming Wellness: Dismantling Health Stigmas for Men of Color” will take place at Gee’s Clippers from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Men can register in advance or simply show up at the clinic.

The goal of this initiative is to provide a trusted space for men to discuss their health concerns and receive the care they need. Gee’s Clippers is committed to fostering a positive relationship between men and their healthcare providers, which can help break down stigmas surrounding healthcare among men.
