Winston Watkins Jr. may reconsider return to Buffs despite decommitting from Colorado

Deion Sanders, the newly appointed head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, has secured a commitment from highly rated class of 2025 wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. Although Watkins had previously decommitted in November, Colorado remains in the running for his services. Known for his explosiveness on offense and ability to work effectively from the slot position, Watkins is a highly sought-after prospect from Venice, Florida.

Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 172 pounds, Watkins impresses with his advanced route running skills and elusiveness when avoiding defenders. With his speed, he is able to outrun opponents when given open space on the field. Despite competition from college football powerhouses such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, and Penn State Nittany Lions for his services, Colorado’s inclusion in Watkins’ top 16 choices is a positive sign.
