The Cardinals have recently announced that they have signed four of their draftees to contracts. These players include linebacker Xavier Thomas, offensive tackle Christian Jones, receiver Tejhaun Palmer, and cornerback Jaden Davis. While this is great news for the team, there are still eight draftees who remain unsigned.
Xavier Thomas was highly regarded in the 2018 class and was ranked as the No. 3 prospect. He had an impressive freshman year at Clemson, finishing as an All-American with 25 tackles, four tackles for loss, and three sacks. Christian Jones, a swing tackle, was the second offensive lineman drafted by the Cardinals. Tejhaun Palmer was the team’s second wide receiver drafted this year and will join a revamped receiving room that includes Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, and veteran Chris Moore. Jaden Davis has shown versatility, playing in various positions including outside, in the slot, and at safety. Last season he accounted for 42 tackles, four pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
While it’s great to see these players officially under contract with the team, there is still work to be done to fill out the roster. There are still eight draftees who remain unsigned and the team will need to continue signing players to complete their roster before training camp begins.
