Cora and Match stores set to rebrand as Carrefour

In a major restructuring move, the Carrefour group has officially entered the Cora and Match stores in the east and north of France. This acquisition of 175 stores from the Louis Delhaize group is seen as a key milestone in the company’s long-term strategy and reflects its commitment to serving customers across France.

Carrefour CEO Alexandre Bompard views this move as a major and structuring operation, marking the most significant operation since the acquisition of Promodes over twenty years ago. The Competition Authority has not yet made a ruling on the acquisition, but an exemption has been granted to Carrefour to begin integrating the points of sale. This development signals a new step in the evolution of the French retail market.

With a focus on growth and the integration of new points of sale, Carrefour is positioning itself for continued success in the competitive retail market. The acquisition includes approximately 22,000 employees, including the Provera purchasing center, which will be integrated into Carrefour’s existing operations. This strategic expansion is expected to bring significant benefits to both Carrefour and its customers.
