The 2024 Apertura season has put Chivas Guadalajara in a position to challenge for the Liga MX title. After finishing fifth and sixth in the Apertura and Clausura last season, respectively, they made it to the semifinals of the 2024 Clausura, ultimately losing to Club America. However, with the return of star player Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez and the team’s recent resurgence, there is renewed interest surrounding Chivas this year.
To enhance the viewing experience, Telemundo Deportes will offer a 1-hour pregame show and a 30-minute postgame show for every match on Universo and Peacock. Sportscaster Jorge Calvo will provide live commentary during matches along with expert analysis from Chivas veteran Manuel Sol and referee Jaime Herrera Garduno. Host Miguel Gurwitz will lead the pregame and postgame show “Futbol Estelar Chivas Extra,” with contributions from Veronica Rodriguez, cohost of “Zona Mixta.”
Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock will be the go-to channels for all Chivas home games during the 2024 Apertura season. The first match is between Chivas and Toluca at Akron Stadium on Saturday, July 6th at 9pm ET. Viewers can catch all of Chivas’ home games throughout the season on these channels starting on July 6th until November 9th when they face San Luis in their final game.
