American Secretary of Defense Austin Returns to Hospital

On Sunday, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was taken to the hospital again, just two weeks after his controversial secret hospital stay. This time, he was admitted due to an emerging bladder problem. A spokesman for the Pentagon stated that indicative symptoms were treated and that Austin will continue to carry out his official business while in the clinic.

Last year, a prostate cancer was discovered in Austin and he underwent an operation. After a minor procedure on December 22nd, Austin initially returned home but was later admitted to Walter Reed Hospital on January 1st due to complications. The White House was not informed about his hospital stay until January 4th, and Congress was informed a day later. President Joe Biden only found out about the cancer diagnosis on January 9th. Both the White House and the Pentagon launched internal investigations into the case.

Despite calls from Republican representatives to fire the Pentagon chief, President Biden criticized the lack of communication but expressed continued confidence in his defense secretary. There are no further details provided about Austin’s current condition or treatment plan.
