Crystal Palace have announced that two more players will be leaving the club this summer as their contracts expire. The Eagles revealed the news of the departures of goalkeeper Fran Kitching and midfielder Kirsten Reilly via a post on their official club website this morning. This brings the total number of players leaving the club to eight following their promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Fran Kitching, who joined Crystal Palace in summer 2022 from Sheffield United, was the first-choice goalkeeper for The Eagles in the 2022/2023 season. However, she was absent from the squad throughout this season. Kitching made 23 appearances for Crystal Palace in all competitions during her time at the club.
Defensive midfielder Kirsten Reilly also joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2022 when the club became full-time professional. She has since made 44 appearances for The Eagles in all competitions. Reilly played in nearly all of Crystal Palace’s fixtures in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season, helping the team clinch the league title and secure promotion to the top flight.
Crystal Palace are currently experiencing significant changes as they prepare for life in the Barclays Women’s Super League next season. In addition to Kitching and Reilly, Polly Doran, Anna Filbey, Shauna Guyatt, Annabel Johnson, Natalia Negri, and Ellie Noble will also be leaving Crystal Palace this summer as their contracts come to an end.
