Egypt Secures Strategic Commodity Reserve to Ensure Market Stability

In Cairo, Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, has announced plans to establish a strategic reserve of essential commodities. This was revealed during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, where efforts to secure basic commodities and expand the strategic reserve were reviewed.

The Ministry has already signed a contract to purchase 500 thousand tons of sugar, with shipments expected to arrive soon. Additionally, the ministry has a significant stock of wheat in place and is working towards securing other important commodities for the strategic reserve.

Al-Moselhi emphasized the importance of these measures in ensuring a stable supply of essential goods for the people of Egypt. The government is taking proactive steps to address any potential shortages and maintain stability in the market. By increasing the size of the strategic reserve and securing key commodities, the Ministry aims to protect against any disruptions in the supply chain.
