Electricity Transfer Fees: A Study Reveals Significant Variations Among Companies and Calls for Fair Pricing Policies

The study by Omakotiliitto has revealed that electricity transfer fees vary significantly among companies. While the basic fee for transfer ranges from EUR 4.70 at the cheapest to EUR 40.66 at the most expensive per month, there are also considerable differences in energy fees for electricity transmission, ranging from 1.69 cents to 6.75 cents per kilowatt-hour.

When comparing energy fees for electricity transmission, Enontekiö Sähkö had the most expensive price at 6.75 cents per kilowatt-hour, while Rovakaira had the cheapest at 1.69 cents. The survey showed that spending habits and living situations determine whether the emphasis on the electricity bill is on the basic transfer fee or the energy fee. Almost half of the companies surveyed had increased their prices since last year, while two companies lowered the price and 37 kept it unchanged.

The Energy Agency confirmed a new supervision model last year to oversee pricing of electricity transmission companies, which faced opposition from many companies. The Chairman of the Association of Homeowners, Ari Rehnfors, expressed his desire for more drastic measures to lower electricity transmission prices, stating that current control models favor monopoly companies.
