Green Business Workshop in Northwest Colorado happening this week

Local business owners and organizations in the Yampa Valley area are invited to attend a workshop on “Business Leadership for Climate” this Wednesday. The event, organized by the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council and Steamboat Springs Chamber, will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Routt County Health and Human Services Community Room in Steamboat Springs.

During the workshop, attendees will learn about the benefits of state-level recognition through the Colorado Green Business Network and receive guidance on achieving bronze-level certification within the first year. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the green business program, learn how to navigate the recognition application process, and discover strategies to accumulate points towards certification.

The goal of the event is to promote the growth of the Yampa Valley green business community and facilitate discussions about green business opportunities and challenges. Lunch will be provided by Hypnotic Chicken with energy bars from Bar-U-Eat. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is necessary.

For those unable to attend the workshop, attendees can drop in during office hours hosted by the Colorado Green Business Network of Yampa Valley team at Bud Werner Memorial Library Coffee Bar from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of every month without needing an RSVP. This provides an opportunity for attendees to get more information and have their questions answered while enjoying a free coffee and snack.
