Empowering Africa with Electric Vehicle Technology: Golden Dragon Leads Six-Day Training Programme

The Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization, in partnership with the Chinese Mission to the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the African Electric Power Utilities Association, has initiated a six-day electric bus technology training programme in Africa with the aim of promoting the growth of electric vehicles and energy storage technology on the continent.

Nearly 200 participants from energy departments, power companies, universities, and research institutions in 25 African countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, and Ghana have shown interest in the programme. During the training programme, Golden Dragon is offering comprehensive feasibility analysis methods, training courses, and detailed reports specifically tailored for African governments and related industries on the development of electric vehicle technology.

The main objective of this training programme is to expedite the establishment of energy interconnection in Africa, reduce power outages, promote electrification and industrialisation across the continent. The training covers a range of topics including standards for electric vehicles, construction and operation of electric vehicle charging facilities, insights into project investment and financing as well as policies related to energy storage industry.

Golden Dragon’s participation in this training programme demonstrates its export philosophy of empowering others with knowledge and expertise instead of simply providing solutions. This initiative seeks to advance the adoption of electric vehicles and energy storage technology in Africa paving way for a more sustainable transportation infrastructure on the continent.

Overall this program will provide valuable knowledge to African governments and industries on how to develop sustainable transportation infrastructure that will benefit millions across Africa.
