Exile Brewery Co.’s Munich-style Dunkel Wins Prestigious Silver Medal in 2024 World Beer Cup

The 2024 World Beer Cup has announced its winners, with one Iowa brewery taking home a prestigious prize. Beer enthusiasts often refer to the World Beer Cup as the “Olympics of beer competitions,” recognizing it as the largest and most esteemed beer competition globally. The event honors gold, silver, and bronze medalists across 110 beer styles.

Among the winners was Exile Brewery Co. in Des Moines, which claimed a silver medal for its Munich-style dunkel beer known as G.G. Exile faced off against 65 other beers from various countries in the competition. Additionally, Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant in Topeka, Kansas, secured the gold medal for its Munich Dunkles, while Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia, Illinois, earned the bronze for its Wilson Street Dunkel.

The 2024 World Beer Cup featured 290 judges from 37 countries who evaluated 9,300 beers from 2,060 breweries across 50 nations. The ceremony for the 2024 World Beer Cup was held in Las Vegas where many brewers from around the world competed against each other.

One Iowa brewery stood out among them all and claimed a prestigious prize – Exile Brewery Co.’s Munich-style dunkel beer known as G.G., won a silver medal.

Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant in Topeka took home gold for its Munich Dunkles while Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia earned a bronze for their Wilson Street Dunkel.

Overall there were over 9300 beers evaluated by over 290 judges from around the world who came together to judge them based on their taste quality.
