In the wake of Quarterback’s successful first season on Netflix, the show’s producers faced a new challenge: finding enough quarterbacks for the second season. Rather than sticking with the same position, they decided to switch gears and focus on a different role – Receiver.
Travis Kelce, a popular pass-catching tight end, was approached to join the Receiver lineup. However, during an appearance on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Kelce revealed that he turned down the invitation to be part of the show. Despite being asked after Patrick Mahomes had already participated, Kelce stated that he preferred to focus on his football career and was no longer interested in reality television.
The Receiver cast includes Justin Jefferson of the Vikings, Davante Adams of the Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions, and Deebo Samuel and George Kittle of the 49ers. If Kelce had accepted the invitation, he would have likely taken center stage alongside these other talented players.
Sadly for fans of Receiver, Kelce will not be part of the lineup when it debuts on July 12th.
