The Giants made a significant addition to their free-agent acquisition list by signing outfielder Jorge Soler to a three-year contract. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the news was announced on Monday night.

The 31-year-old Soler is expected to bring much-needed power to the Giants’ lineup, as they look to improve their offensive capabilities. In 2023, he had a great season with the Miami Marlins, hitting 36 home runs and posting a .250/.341/.512 slash line. Additionally, he was named World Series MVP in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves, helping them win the championship with a .300 batting average, three home runs, and six RBIs.

The signing of Soler is considered a major step forward for San Francisco as they continue their efforts to contend for a World Series title. The Giants have taken a step in the right direction by adding such an experienced and talented player to their roster.
