Google Introduces New Quarantine Feature to Combat Malicious Apps on Android Devices

In an effort to improve security for Android devices, Google is introducing a new feature that will allow services like Google Play Protect to isolate apps suspected of carrying out malicious activities. This feature, which is part of Android 15, will put potentially harmful apps into quarantine, preventing them from executing any malware or malicious activity on the device without immediate uninstallation.

When a potentially harmful app is identified, the user will be notified and given the option to delete it or have it automatically removed. The quarantine feature will restrict the affected app’s functionality by hiding its windows and preventing any notifications or system interactions. Other apps will also be unable to access its services, ensuring that the device remains secure.

This new security measure aims to provide users with a more secure mobile experience by further enhancing the protection offered by Google Play Protect and other security tools. It will help prevent potential threats and maintain the integrity of the Android ecosystem. While this feature is still in development, it may become available in future versions of Android such as Android 15.
