Bill Nye, known as the ‘Science Guy’, to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Bill Nye, the iconic “Science Guy” known for his humor and passion for science, is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recently announced their new class of honorees, and Nye will be among them.

Nye’s career in science and entertainment began after graduating from Cornell University in 1977 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After working for Boeing as an engineer, he combined his love for science and comedy after winning a Steve Martin look-alike contest. He pursued a career as a comedy writer and performer on Seattle’s comedy show “Almost Live” before creating his Emmy award-winning show “Bill Nye the Science Guy.”

Aside from his television work, Nye has written eight children’s books, been featured on the New York Times Bestsellers List, serves as CEO of the Planetary Society, and is on the board of the Mount St. Helens Institute. With his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Nye will join a long list of icons honored on the famous sidewalk.

The official date for Nye’s star ceremony has not been announced yet, but fans around the world eagerly await this celebration of his remarkable career and contributions to science education.
