Indian Cuisine Takes the Spotlight in Taste Atlas’s Latest Stew Rankings

Taste Atlas, a renowned food guide, has recently showcased the diversity and richness of Indian cuisine in various categories. In their latest rankings for April 2024, nine Indian dishes have been featured in the list of the ‘Best Stews in the World’. This marks the highest number of entries from any single country on this list.

Taste Atlas has expanded beyond traditional interpretations of the word “stews” to include a wide range of dishes under this category. Among the Indian stews that made it to the list, keema, a dish made from minced meat, secured the 6th position. Other popular Indian stews like Chingri malai curry, korma, Vindaloo, Dal Tadka, Saag Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Misal and Indian dal were also ranked highly. These dishes come from different regions across India and reflect the diverse culinary traditions of each region.

The top spot on the list of Best Stews in the World went to Thai Phanaeng curry. This ranking highlights the global popularity of stew-based dishes and showcases how unique flavors and ingredients are used in different cuisines around the world.

In addition to featuring Indian sweet dishes and lamb dishes in previous rankings, Taste Atlas has solidified India’s position as a major player in global culinary scene with its recognition of multiple dishes making it to various lists.
