Inter’s Barella signs contract extension through 2029

Nicolo Barella, the Italian international, has extended his contract with Inter Milan until 2029. The announcement was made by the Serie A champions on Tuesday. Barella expressed his joy and gratitude on Inter’s website, stating that he is proud to be able to continue fighting for the colors of this great club.

The 27-year-old Barella aims to win a second continental title with Italy at Euro 2024. He is one of the few players from the Euro 2020-winning squad included in coach Luciano Spalletti’s plans for the upcoming Euro 2024, set to kick off in Germany on Friday. Although he missed Italy’s first training session due to a muscle issue from a recent friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Barella is expected to start for Italy in their opening match against Albania on June 15.

Barella played a key role for Inter Milan under coach Simone Inzaghi last season as they clinched the Serie A title with an impressive 94 points from 38 matches. Having joined Inter Milan in 2019 from Cagliari, Barella has accumulated 235 appearances and won two Scudettos and two Italian cups during his time with the club.
