Jeff Bezos offloads $2 billion worth of shares from his company

According to recent reports, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has sold two billion dollars worth of shares in the e-commerce giant he founded. This was revealed in documents submitted to the Securities Market Regulatory Authority on Friday. The documents indicate that Bezos sold approximately 12 million Amazon shares on Wednesday and Thursday, with each share having a price of 168-171 dollars.

Earlier in the week, Bezos had made it known through documents released on Wednesday that he intends to sell 50 million Amazon shares next July. Despite stepping down from his position as CEO in 2021, Bezos remains chairman of the company‚Äôs board and is still listed among the three richest people in the world according to both Forbes financial magazine and Bloomberg financial news agency’s billionaire listings.
