Johnson Controls, a multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has announced that it will be selling its Air Distribution Technologies business to Truelink Capital, a private equity firm based in the United States. The sale includes well-known air distribution and movement brands such as Koch Filter, Titus, Ruskin, Kreuger, PennBarry and Tuttle & Bailey, along with their product lines. These product lines consist of grilles, registers and diffusers, terminal units, fire and smoke dampers, louvres, filters and fans.
The sale of Air Distribution Technologies is a strategic move for Johnson Controls to simplify its portfolio and focus on becoming a leading solutions provider for commercial buildings. Earlier this year, Johnson Controls revealed its intention to focus on its OpenBlue suite of connected AI smart building solutions and services. This prompted the sale of its HVAC businesses including York International and Hitachi joint venture stake. Other industrial businesses such as Robert Bosch, Lennox International and Samsung Electronics have also shown interest in acquiring Johnson Controls’ HVAC assets.
