KBR Awarded Contract for Phenol Technology Licensing and Design at SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals in China

SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals has recently awarded KBR a contract to license its phenol technology in China. This project involves providing technology licensing and engineering design for a 250,000-ton phenol plant at SABIC’s Fujian Petrochemical Complex. The project, which was announced in January 2024, is expected to be completed by 2026.

KBR’s phenol technology offers a sustainable solution that reduces energy consumption and improves yields, making it stand out from other options available on the market. Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about collaborating with SABIC Fujian on this project in China.
