Global Initiative on Digital Health Launched

On February 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM CET, the Global Initiative on Digital Health will launch virtually. This event is being organized by the World Health Organization and will be live-streamed on a designated page. To participate in this event, individuals must register through a provided link.

During the launch, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, will provide remarks. Additionally, leaders from various UN agencies, development organizations and government partners will also be present to mark the beginning of this new chapter in digital health transformation.

The Global Initiative on Digital Health is a network managed by the World Health Organization that aims to coordinate resources to support digital health transformation led by individual countries. It plays a key role in implementing the Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025. Its objectives include assessing and prioritizing country needs, aligning resources and building capacity for local development and adaptation of digital health technologies. Membership in this initiative is open to all institutions engaged in digital health who demonstrate a commitment to collaborative efforts in achieving its goals.
