Left-Handed Pitcher Robert Gasser Ready to Make MLB Debut for Milwaukee Brewers against St. Louis Cardinals

Robert Gasser, a left-handed pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, is set to make his MLB debut on Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Gasser, who will turn 25 on May 31, was acquired by the Brewers in a trade that sent Josh Hader to San Diego in 2022. Despite not yet being officially added to the roster, Gasser was with the team as they began their series against the Cardinals.

Before the game on Thursday, Gasser expressed his excitement about his upcoming debut, mentioning that he will have friends and family in attendance to watch the milestone. He described it as a dream come true and was looking forward to the opportunity. Gasser is the sole player from the Hader trade who remains with the Brewers, as the other players involved were either designated for assignment or traded to other teams.

Gasser faced an initial setback at the start of the season when he was diagnosed with bone chips in his elbow, causing him to miss out on opening the season with the major league roster. However, he has since recovered and mentioned that he feels great after working hard to get back into shape. After working his way back, Gasser had some starts with Triple-A Nashville and showed promise with his performance.

Even before his injury, Gasser was told that he would have the opportunity to pitch in the major leagues. Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised Gasser’s pitching abilities and expressed confidence in his readiness for his upcoming debut. With a strong track record in the minor leagues, Gasser brings a good repertoire and poise that make him a formidable pitcher for both right-handed and left-handed batters.
