Lexus has recently expanded its sponsorship agreement with the World Surf League (WSL) for another year, taking Toyota’s luxury brand through the 2025 WSL season. Additionally, Lexus has secured title sponsorships for the U.S. Open of Surfing and the WSL Finals. WSL Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) Cherie Cohen expressed her admiration for Lexus’s approach to activating their sponsorship in authentic ways, particularly in areas such as women’s surfing and diversity.
Cohen also noted that with 18 Olympic qualifications under the WSL’s guidance, the league is poised to reach a larger audience with the upcoming Olympics. Surfing is set to reach more people than ever before during this summer event, and the goal is to convert this newfound awareness into full-time fandom. Other nonendemic sponsors of the WSL include Apple, Corona, Shiseido, and Yeti.
The extension of Lexus’s sponsorship deal with the WSL highlights its commitment to supporting the sport and its athletes for years to come. With its continued partnership with this organization, Lexus will continue to play an integral role in promoting surfing and inspiring future generations of athletes on this platform.
