BRIGHTON — Employees of the Livingston Each day Press & Argus won seven awards in the annual Michigan Press Association Improved Newspaper Contest.
The awards had been announced on-line this week.
In the each day newspaper Class C News Photo competitors, photographer Gillis Benedict claimed initial location with his entry, “Genoa Township Clerk Polly Skolarus.”
Benedict also took initial location in the Photo Story competitors with his “Luke Bryan Farm Tour in Fowlerville” entry.
Sports writer Bill Kahn won initial location in the Sports Function competitors with his story, “Told he would not run once more, Brighton man finishes yet another Boston Marathon.”
Kahn’s second initial-location award was in the Sports Writing category with “Hartland freshman who should not have been on ice secures state title with OT winner.”
In the Very best Video Presentation competitors, Benedict took second location for “Farm gives fresh meals for delivery.” Kahn placed third in the identical category with his entry, “Hartland wins hockey championship.”
Kahn also received an honorable mention in Sports Writing with “Senior scores initial touchdown of life for Howell in football playoff loss to Grand Blanc.”
The Class C division contains newspapers with circulations from five,001 to 11,000. Entries for the competitors, span Aug. 1, 2021 to July 29, 2022.
Members of Colorado Press Association reviewed two,866 entries submitted by 89 Michigan newspapers/Men and women across eight newspaper divisions, like each each day and weekly outlets.
