On Saturday night, a business owner in Stowe Township was arrested after allegedly shooting a customer who attempted to steal a tip jar from his restaurant. The incident occurred at the Hook Fish and Chicken restaurant on Broadway Avenue.
The 15-year-old customer entered the restaurant and took the tip jar from behind the counter. As he turned to leave, 39-year-old Mohammed Hamdan, the owner, fired at least three shots from a pistol at the teenager. The customer was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
According to police reports, Hamdan had not been threatened and the teenager was not armed. As a result, Hamdan is now facing charges of aggravated assault and was taken into custody on Sunday morning. He is currently being held in the county jail awaiting arraignment.
