Independence, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today recognized Geater Machining and Manufacturing as her Small Business of the Week. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Geater Machining and Manufacturing has been producing precision machines and fabricated parts for the aerospace, electronics, and high-tech industries for over 61 years, three generations, and a great deal of hard work. The company was founded in 1962 under the leadership of Duane Geater and has continued to grow while keeping its roots firmly planted in Independence, Iowa. The company’s commitment to giving back to the Buchanan County community is evident in their student outreach opportunities, including an apprenticeship program, job shadowing, academic speakers, and more.
