Medina is set to participate in Small Business Saturday on November 25, as part of the “Shop Small Movement” founded by American Express in 2010. This event aims to promote local businesses and help them thrive, especially during the holiday shopping season. The celebration will take place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday at the height of the holiday shopping season.

On November 25, starting at 11 am, Medina will hold its Small Business Saturday event at various locations around the city. A table will be set up in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square with “Shop Small” handouts and information about Medina’s small business community. Santa will also be dropping by from noon-2 pm at Wichert Insurance, 119 N. Court St., to spread some holiday cheer.

In recent years, Medina has seen a rise in local independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants, pubs, and services filling most of its business district storefronts. This means that over 90% of the stores are locally owned and operated, making it easier for customers to support their community while shopping for gifts or treats during the holiday season.
