Deji Oshilaja, a 31-year-old midfielder with experience in both offense and defense, has signed a two-year deal with Mansfield Town, a newly promoted League One team. Oshilaja is the fourth new addition to join the Stags since their promotion, following the signings of Australia midfielder Keanu Baccus, full-back Frazer Blake-Tracy, and striker Lee Gregory.
Oshilaja’s move from Burton Albion comes after his release from the Championship club, where he scored 12 goals in 133 appearances over three seasons. Throughout his career, he has primarily played in League One, previously featuring for Charlton Athletic, AFC Wimbledon, and Gillingham.
Manager Nigel Clough has brought in Oshilaja as part of his plan to strengthen Mansfield Town’s midfield depth. The manager expressed excitement about Oshilaja’s signing and what he can bring to the team. “Deji is a versatile player who can play in both defense and offense,” said Clough. “He’s got great experience in League One and will be an asset to our squad.”
Oshilaja expressed his excitement about joining Mansfield Town and working with Clough. “The manager has a clear plan for me in terms of what he wants me to bring to the team,” said Oshilaja. “That’s exciting because it means I have a role to play in this team.”
