Preston Memorial Hospital’s Annual Newberg Health Fair Brings Community Together

Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital recently held its annual health fair in Newberg, West Virginia. The event provided free and low-cost health screenings and education to the community. This is a longstanding tradition that has been part of the hospital’s community outreach programs since 2003, and is co-hosted by the Newberg Rotary Club.

The success of this event could not have been possible without the collaboration of staff from Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Trauma, and Primary Care – Fellowsville, along with the Newberg Rotary Club, Newberg Senior Center, and ten other healthcare and community agencies.

The health fair offered a range of services to attendees, including low-cost blood screenings, free vision screenings, and free blood pressure screenings. Additionally, educational resources were available on various health topics such as organ donation, stroke and heart attack symptoms, substance use prevention, respiratory care, and more.

Melissa Lockwood, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital expressed her gratitude to all those involved in making this event possible. She emphasized the importance of these health fairs in furthering the hospital’s mission of enhancing the health of the communities they serve. “We are proud to partner with local organizations to educate and expand access to healthcare in our rural area,” she said.
