Laguna Beach Unified College District Chief Technologies Officer Michael Morrison was named 2023 Technologies Administrator of the Year by the Association of California College Administrators (ACSA) Area 17, covering all Orange County college districts.
ACSA is the biggest umbrella organization for college leaders in the nation. Area 17 focuses on serving educational leaders in the pursuit of equity and excellence to meet the diverse requirements of all students in Orange County. One particular of ACSA’s priorities is to assure that college leaders are recognized for their excellence and dedication to public education administrators of the year are chosen for their outstanding overall performance and achievement in their respective categories.
“Mr. Morrison’s technological leadership and innovation have paved the way for new approaches of teaching that engage our students and inspire our employees to discover distinct tools and platforms for experiential understanding,” Superintendent Jason Viloria stated. “He has been top our technologies initiatives for practically a decade, but the effect of his perform will extend far beyond his time with LBUSD.”
Morrison was nominated by executive assistant to the superintendent and board Victoria Webber and Thurston Middle College Principal Joe Vidal and shocked with the award announcement by Viloria, technologies solutions employees, college district and internet site administrators.
“It is an honor to acquire this award from ACSA,” Morrison stated. “I truly think in the perform ACSA does in building possibilities to connect with colleagues and find out from every single other’s experience. I am fortunate to be in a district that supports inventive options. Absolutely nothing I’ve achieved could have been attainable without having the outstanding group in LBUSD and a supportive board of education.”
ACSA Area 17 will recognize all award recipients at the Orange County Administrators of the Year Banquet on May possibly eight in Irvine.
