Muncy senior pitcher Nolah Moyer and catcher Taylor Shannon led the team to a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail, capturing a second consecutive Mid-Penn championship. With her commitment to Division I St. Bonaventure, Moyer threw a one-hit shutout, went 3 for 3 at the plate, homered, and drove in five runs. Shannon also had a big day, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs.
Moyer quickly put Muncy on the board with a two-run home run in the first inning. She added two RBIs with a bases loaded single in the second inning, extending the lead to 5-0. Shannon then hit a three-run home run to make it 8-0 in favor of Muncy. Both Moyer and Shannon finished with five RBIs each as Muncy cruised to victory.
Despite breaking up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit, Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun couldn’t prevent their defeat by Muncy. Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in five innings. Moyer picked up the win on the mound while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail.
