In recent news, the Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have waived linebacker Shaquille Leonard. Colts owner Jim Irsay took to social media to thank Leonard for his contributions to the team during his six years with the franchise. Leonard, in turn, posted a farewell message on social media expressing his gratitude to the city of Indianapolis and its fans.

Leonard’s time with the Colts was marked by several accomplishments. He was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft and went on to win defensive rookie of the year, as well as being named a first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and a decrease in playing time led to his release from the team.

Despite his departure from the Colts, Leonard remains appreciative of the support he received from fans in Indianapolis and expressed his love for the city. As a free agent, he will now be looking for a new team to call home, with the opportunity to sign a new contract elsewhere.
