Near-drowning Incident Under Investigation at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark in New York

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a near-drowning incident that occurred over the weekend at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark in Queensbury, New York. A 5-year-old girl from Hudson, New York was discovered unresponsive in the water at the waterpark and was quickly transported to an Albany hospital by Life Net. She is currently in stable condition.

The New York State Department of Health has taken notice of the incident and is conducting an investigation into the matter. Monica Pomeroy, a public information officer with the state health department, stated via email that this specific incident is being looked into by the department’s Glens Falls District Office. However, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, further comments were not provided at this time.

Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark opened its doors in 2006 and is owned by Six Flags. In response to the emergency, several local emergency services departments assisted in helping expedite the response to the incident at the waterpark. These agencies included West Glens Falls EMS, Queensbury Central Fire, and the New York State Police. Together, they were able to quickly respond to the scene and provide necessary assistance to ensure a successful outcome for all involved.
