New Chapter Begins for Ottawa County Department of Public Health: Uganski Takes on Deputy Health Officer Role and Mansaray Retires after 20 Years of Service

The Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH) in Michigan has announced a staffing change that will take place at the end of May. Lisa Uganski, the department’s current Health Planning and Promotion Manager, will assume the role of deputy health officer starting June 3.

Uganski has been with OCDPH since 2000 when she started as a registered dietitian and health educator. Throughout her tenure, she has held several positions within the department, including senior epidemiologist. Uganski is excited about her new opportunity and is dedicated to continuing the department’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County residents.

Mansaray, who has been with OCDPH for nearly 20 years, will retire on May 31, 2024. She started in 2006 as a health promotion specialist and throughout her tenure, she held several positions within the department. Mansaray was the deputy health officer since 2020 and played a key role in leading the department and community through the COVID-19 pandemic. She was praised by Health Officer Adeline Hambley for her service and leadership, noting her wisdom, empathy, and grace.
