Wrighton appointed chair of Science Center board at The Source

Mark S. Wrighton, a distinguished professor and former chancellor at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed chair of the Saint Louis Science Center’s board of commissioners. His term began on January 1st. In this role, he will work closely with the Science Center’s president to improve the institution and make science, technology, engineering and math more accessible to the St. Louis region and beyond through interactive experiences.

The Science Center is a unique nonprofit organization that provides hands-on science education to people of all ages in St. Louis and beyond. With nearly 500,000 visitors each year, it is one of the largest science centers in the U.S. and abroad – all for free!

Prior to his career in university administration, Wrighton was a renowned researcher in photochemistry, surface chemistry, and electrochemistry. He previously served as a member of the Science Center’s board of commissioners and its board of trustees for many years. His expertise will be valuable as he takes on this new leadership role at the Science Center.
