Jim Williams will be competing in the 2024 BetVictor World Cup of Darts in place of Gerwyn Price, who is unable to participate due to health issues. Price and Jonny Clayton had previously won the World Cup together, but with Price’s absence, Williams will be partnering Clayton this time around. Despite his disappointment at not being able to play, Price wished his teammates well and hoped they would bring back the title once again.
Williams, who is the next highest-ranked Welsh player on the PDC Order of Merit, will be making his World Cup debut this weekend in Frankfurt. With the draw already made for the group stage of the tournament, Wales will retain their status as the second seeds. This means they will enter the event in the second round on Saturday at the Eissporthalle. The Wales team will be focused on continuing their success in the Doubles event and aiming for another victory in this prestigious tournament.
