The NFL is set to release the full 2024 schedule on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET, according to a report by Sports Business Journal. Previous signs had indicated that the schedule would be released next week, as reported by PFT. However, teams were informed of the upcoming release date in a memo from the NFL’s executive vice president of media distribution, Hans Schroeder, on Tuesday.
Initially, teams were anticipating the schedule to be released on Thursday, but the memo did not provide a reason for the delay. It is possible that the delay was due to the league’s decision to schedule two games on Wednesday, December 25, despite Schroeder stating earlier that the NFL would not hold games on Christmas if it fell on a Tuesday or Wednesday. This decision required the league to select the Christmas matchups, secure broadcast rights, and coordinate the schedules of the four participating teams to also play on the preceding Saturday.
